Test calls separately from messages
A bot message and an incoming Telegram call use different delivery paths. Receiving an alert message does not prove that your phone will ring. Run the Raid Call test while you can inspect your phone and note the call result.
If the test fails, fix the Telegram settings and repeat it before relying on the feature during a raid.
Who is allowed to call you?
Open Telegram call privacy settings and check who can call you. Telegram offers audience restrictions and exceptions. If calls are limited to contacts, save the account used by RustAlarm to your contacts or grant it an exception.
The notification bot and the Telegram account that places the call are not necessarily the same identity. Use the caller shown during the test, not only the bot conversation.
Check the phone as well
Allow Telegram notifications and incoming calls in the operating-system settings. Review Do Not Disturb, focus modes, battery saving and background-app permissions; their behaviour varies by device.
Lock the screen during a test and confirm that an incoming call is audible. A successful test with Telegram open does not guarantee that a closed app will wake you under your nighttime settings.
If a test works but the alarm does not
In the dashboard, verify the Rust+ server connection, paired Smart Alarm and enabled message and call destinations for that event. A Smart Alarm reacts to power at its input; the item does not identify a raid on its own.
Safely trigger the electrical circuit and inspect alert history. If no event appears, investigate the sensor, power, pairing and Rust+ connection. If the event exists but no call arrives, inspect the channel settings and call-attempt result.
Reduce the chance of a missed alert
Add trusted teammates to the call chain, confirm that they accepted the invitation and ask each person to run a test. Every recipient has their own Telegram privacy and phone settings.
No external service can guarantee a call when a phone is off, disconnected or restricted by Telegram. Repeat the test after changing devices, accounts or privacy settings.
