Questions and answers

Everything important about Rust+ setup, alerts, calls and server control.

What is Rust Alarm?

Rust Alarm connects to Rust+ and alerts an owner when a paired Smart Alarm at the base triggers.

Do I need BattleMetrics?

No. Core features connect directly to the server Rust+ endpoint.

Must Rust stay open?

No. The game and your computer may be off after pairing is complete.

How do I connect a server?

Open the dashboard from the Telegram bot, install the official RustAlarm Connector, then sign in through Rust+. Join the server and select ESC → Rust+ → Pair with Server.

Why is a browser extension required?

RustAlarm Connector safely returns the technical callback from the official Rust+ page to your open RustAlarm tab. It does not read Steam cookies or your password.

Why is my Rust+ server unavailable?

The server may be offline, its companion port may be closed, or the player token may be stale. Pair it again and verify server availability.

How do I enable calls?

Run a test call in the bot and allow calls from the caller account in Telegram privacy settings.

Can teammates receive calls?

Yes, up to five. Each person must start the bot and accept the call-chain invitation.

Must I confirm a raid?

No. The owner and extra contacts are called automatically. Answered calls enable a 15-minute cooldown; missed calls receive one retry after 3 minutes.

Which devices are supported?

Smart Alarms and Smart Switches returned by the Rust+ server during pairing.

How accurate is player online status?

You can add up to five Steam IDs. Accuracy depends on public server and Steam data; when a source hides its roster or becomes stale, the dashboard reports insufficient data.

What does the Telegram bot do?

The bot handles secure sign-in, notifications, call-chain invitations and Raid Call testing. Other settings live in the web dashboard.

Is this service affiliated with Facepunch?

No. Rust Alarm is an independent, unofficial service for Rust players.
