Events you can enable
Rust Alarm provides separate toggles for player online, offline, death, respawn, joined team and left team events. Optional events can be disabled without removing the server or changing raid-alert settings.
Separation matters: a death during an active session may be useful in Team Chat, while an overnight login may matter only to certain groups.
Telegram and Team Chat are independent
Team-event destinations are selected separately. Enable Telegram, Team Chat, both or neither. Frequent system messages can stay in game without filling a personal Telegram conversation.
The setting applies to future events. After changing a toggle, use a harmless test, such as asking a teammate to disconnect and reconnect.
Forwarding game chat to Telegram
Game-chat forwarding has its own switch. Disabling it does not disable raid calls or team-system events.
For an active chat, keep routine messages in game and reserve Telegram for alerts and rare events. Less noise makes urgent notifications easier to notice.
Why these events are not custom scenarios
Player state is handled by a dedicated notification system. It is not exposed as a custom scenario action and cannot run arbitrary actions against a player. This keeps behaviour predictable and avoids unnecessary automation chains.
Custom scenarios focus on Smart Alarm, Smart Switch, messages and supported device actions.
What the Telegram bot does
The bot handles secure dashboard sign-in, notification delivery, call-chain invitations and Raid Call testing. Server control commands have moved to the web dashboard, where maps, devices, scenarios and preferences are easier to verify.
This narrower role also makes it harder to trigger a sensitive action accidentally by sending a chat message.
A low-noise configuration
Keep only events that require an out-of-game response in Telegram. Route frequent updates to Team Chat, and enable ordinary chat forwarding only when you genuinely read it from your phone.
Test each important channel and run a separate Raid Call test. A delivered message and a completed call are different mechanisms.
