Rust+ Smart Switch Scenarios for Base Defense

Configure Rust Alarm scenarios, reversible game-chat commands and Smart Switch actions without loops or notification noise.

What you can automate

A scenario connects a supported Rust+ event to a notification and, where allowed, a Smart Switch action. A Smart Alarm trigger can send a message and enable a predefined defense circuit.

Devices live on their own dashboard tab, while scenarios and game-chat commands are grouped together. Verify the device first, then use it in automation.

One reversible command instead of two

A switching action can use one command, such as /def. If the device is off, the command turns it on; if it is on, the command turns it off. There is no need to remember separate open and close commands.

Rust Alarm reports the resulting state instead of only saying “completed”. That matters when the command is sent remotely and the starting state is unknown.

Where results should be sent

A scenario can use Telegram or Team Chat when the event supports those channels. Raid alerts additionally support Raid Call for the owner and the extra-contact chain.

Select only useful destinations. Duplicating every frequent event across every channel creates noise and makes urgent alerts less effective.

Why actions are restricted

Not every event should be able to toggle a device. An action that produces a new event and triggers itself again can create a loop, so dangerous combinations are hidden in the interface and rejected by server-side validation.

Player events are also excluded from custom scenarios. Their toggles and destinations live in the dedicated team-notification settings.

How to test safely

Start with a temporary scenario on one non-critical Smart Switch. Check the initial state, run the command twice and confirm that the dashboard reports the opposite result after each run.

Then test the Smart Alarm event without connecting dangerous loads. Add turrets, lights, doors or another defense circuit only after the notification and switching flow is verified.

What to check after a wipe

Device identifiers and pairing data may change after a wipe. Open Smart devices, make sure the expected Alarm and Switch are available, and review every selected scenario action.

Commands run through Rust+, so the server must be reachable and the player token current. If an action fails, verify Pair and companion-port availability first.
